Speak, 2023
Speak, is a series of paintings that give expression to the feeling of being trapped by trauma, and the tension between external perception and internal reality. When a mentor asked what hidden things I wanted to express, the answer was to release the burden of sexual trauma and to be seen beyond appearance. The series began as self-portraits within tidy lines of ink and acrylic, when a glass of water accidentally spilt and caused an explosion of colour on the paper. The neatly arranged lines were now a liberating mess - reflecting the reality of trying to keep trauma hidden and the freedom that emerges when release ourselves from its definitions. These works sit somewhere between being looked at and being truly seen. Through abstraction, bodily form, colour, and language, the series reflects experiences of visibility, vulnerability, fragmentation, sexuality, and healing. The words woven in the paintings function as fragments of psychological and spiritual experience - moments of tension, exposure, longing, and internal conflict. At its core, Speak asks the viewer to look beyond surface and encounter the complexity of the human landscape beneath.
Home, 2022
These paintings are inspired by the spirit and visions from God. The body, a living home and vessel to the spirit and place of communion and sanctuary.

Through the Heart, 2023
These watercolours are portraits more so than landscapes - capturing trees from Amsterdam and Devon. Trees are fascinating to me, reflecting the beauty of God's design - something luminous, individual, worth sitting with.
These pencil markings emerged from deep grief - returning to a place that had once felt like freedom and home, and finding myself far from both . The marks move through grief rather than around it, allowing the heart to find ways of speaking.
